How to read this

  • Signing — off-chain message signature / WalletConnect / AOPP-style proof.
  • Satoshi — small exact deposit test from the address being verified.
  • Declaration — self-certification, Travel Rule name/VASP fields, or ownership attestation without cryptography.
  • Screenshot — upload of wallet UI showing the address (manual review on some platforms).

FAQ

Do all exchanges require cryptographic proof?

No. Some accept a declaration or Travel Rule name fields only. Others require signing or a Satoshi test above a threshold (often €1,000 in the EU). Always follow the live prompt for your account entity.

Is self-custody banned?

No. Ownership checks are compliance steps for transfers involving self-hosted addresses. Legitimate flows never need your seed phrase.

How current is this table?

Each row links to a KeyProof guide with cited official sources and a last-checked date. Methods and thresholds change — open the guide before a large transfer.

Pro

KeyProof Pro unlocks the full guide set and the browser-local verifier. Pricing — $9/mo or $79/yr (Stripe or AnonPay).
