Young Platform: proving you own your self-custody wallet
Young Platform collects Travel Rule data on all crypto transfers (Italian €0 threshold). For your own self-hosted wallet, confirm ownership (including 2FA / self-certification) under €1,000, or sign a cryptographic challenge at €1,000+. CASP-to-CASP transfers need the counterparty named; Young Platform uses TRUST for encrypted VASP data exchange.
When Young Platform asks
Where: Italy / EU (Travel Rule / TFR). Young Platform states Italy's reporting threshold is €0 for crypto deposits and withdrawals.
Threshold: Italy: €0 — every crypto deposit or withdrawal carries Travel Rule information. Self-hosted wallets: under €1,000 confirm the wallet is yours; €1,000+ require a cryptographic signature. Only your own personal wallets are allowed — transfers to or from other people's personal wallets are blocked.
Accepted verification methods
| Method | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Self-certification / ownership confirmation | Accepted | For self-hosted wallets under €1,000, confirm the wallet is yours (Young Platform describes self-certification with 2FA or other methods shown in-app). Apply once per wallet as described in their Travel Rule materials.[1][2][3] |
| Cryptographic signature (€1,000+) | Accepted | Young Platform's Travel Rule help states that from €1,000 upward they ask for a cryptographic signature to verify the personal wallet. Follow the in-app signing prompt for the exact address.[1] |
| Satoshi test | Not listed | Not described in Young Platform's Travel Rule help / blog articles we checked; ownership proof is confirmation and/or cryptographic signature.[1][2] |

Step by step
Self-hosted wallet (your own)[1][2]
- Start a deposit or withdrawal involving a personal / self-hosted wallet.
- Confirm the wallet is yours. Young Platform blocks transfers to or from other people's personal wallets.
- Under €1,000: complete the ownership confirmation / self-certification (2FA or other method shown on the platform).
- At €1,000 or more: complete the cryptographic signature challenge Young Platform shows for that address.
- Finish any remaining Travel Rule fields, then wait for the transfer to clear.
If you signed a message, keep address / message / signature and re-check them in the KeyProof verifier. Open the verifier →
Transfers with another CASP[2][3]
- Name the counterparty CASP when depositing or withdrawing to another platform.
- When withdrawing to Young Platform from elsewhere, select Young Platform as the destination if asked. If it is missing from the other platform's list, open a Young Platform support ticket.
- Match network and memo/tag exactly (Young Platform notes Memo ID for assets that require a memo).
Common errors and fixes
Transfer to someone else's personal wallet blocked
Young Platform states personal wallets must be yours; transfers involving other people's self-hosted wallets are blocked. Use a CASP destination or your own wallet.[1]
Deposit delayed after sending
Complete any ownership or Travel Rule prompts. Young Platform notes extra screenings or information requests can lengthen processing times.[3]
Wrong network or missing memo
Young Platform warns deposits on the wrong network or without a required memo/tag may not be recoverable; they return memo-less deposits to the sender when possible. Always copy address and memo from the Deposit screen.[3]
