Independent Reserve: proving you own your self-custody wallet
Independent Reserve only lets you withdraw to addresses you own or control that are verified in your address book. You add the address, confirm via SMS, declare ownership, and may confirm by email on first use. Third-party wallets are not supported. Deposits from unverified senders may need an in-account verify-deposit step.
When Independent Reserve asks
Where: Australia (AUSTRAC crypto Travel Rule; address-book changes from 21 June 2026, mandatory from 1 July 2026)
Threshold: Independent Reserve requires every external withdrawal address to be saved and verified in the address book before withdrawal. AUSTRAC virtual-asset Travel Rule guidance does not set a minimum transfer amount.

Step by step
Add and verify an external wallet address[1]
- Log in. Open your profile → settings → address book (or the side menu on mobile), then Add new address (or Verify if it is already listed).
- Select the cryptocurrency and network, enter the wallet address, and add a description (for example "My ledger").
- Select the address type. If it is a crypto platform address, pick the platform name from the list.
- Enter your Independent Reserve account password and click Add.
- Enter the SMS code sent to your registered mobile number.
- Declare that you are the owner of the wallet address. Independent Reserve does not support withdrawals to wallets owned by another person.
- If this is the first withdrawal to the address, confirm the email request within 60 minutes if you receive one.
Withdraw or verify a deposit[1]
- Withdrawals: choose a verified address from the address book. If the destination is missing, add and verify it before the withdrawal can proceed.
- Deposits from other platforms: in most cases Travel Rule data arrives automatically. If prompted, open the dashboard notification, click Verify deposit, and confirm you own or control the sending wallet.
- Independent Reserve does not accept deposits from wallets owned by another person; contact support if you cannot confirm ownership (funds may need to be returned).
