BingX: proving you own your self-custody wallet

BingX educates that self-custody transfers may require ownership verification (including message signing in some jurisdictions) and that whitelisting addresses is a common workflow. Separately, BingX’s withdrawal address book lets you save addresses and enable verification-free whitelist mode (skips 2FA/facial recognition — not the same as Travel Rule ownership proof). For Brazil, BingX says complete one-time Know-Your-Wallet (KYW) verification to whitelist an external address and avoid manual compliance delays.

Never share your seed phrase or private key. BingX only needs a signature, a small test deposit or the details it asks for in its own app. Last checked 2026-10-27. Not legal advice.

When BingX asks

Where: Global BingX platform; Brazil-specific Know-Your-Wallet (KYW) guidance appears in BingX’s SPSAV / PIX-crypto learn article. Whitelist steps apply on BingX web and app.

Threshold: BingX’s Travel Rule explainer cites common jurisdictional floors around USD/EUR 1,000 for information sharing, without publishing a single BingX-wide ownership-proof number. Brazil KYW is framed as documenting beneficial ownership of self-hosted addresses for private-wallet withdrawals under the 2026 SPSAV framework.

MethodStatusDetails
Travel Rule beneficiary / ownership steps (general)AcceptedBingX’s Travel Rule guide says platforms may ask you to verify ownership of self-hosted wallets, provide beneficiary information for regulated transfers, and whitelist commonly used addresses.[1]
KYW (Brazil) + address-book whitelistAcceptedBrazil SPSAV article: complete one-time Know-Your-Wallet (KYW) so BingX can document beneficial ownership of a self-hosted address and whitelist it. Separately, BingX’s address book saves token/network/address/remarks and can enable verification-free mode (skips 2FA/facial recognition) or Withdraw via Address Book only — a security whitelist, not the same as cryptographic Travel Rule proof.[2][3]
Message signingAcceptedBingX’s Travel Rule explainer lists “platforms asking users to sign a message proving wallet control” as a common self-hosted requirement. It does not document BingX’s own in-app signing UI on that page.[1]

Step by step

Prepare for a self-hosted withdrawal (general Travel Rule)[1]

  1. Complete BingX KYC for the entity that serves you.
  2. When withdrawing to self-custody, expect ownership verification or beneficiary fields if your jurisdiction requires them.
  3. If BingX asks you to prove control, use only the official in-app flow (for example a message signature if offered) — never a seed phrase.
  4. Whitelist frequently used withdrawal addresses after a successful check to reduce repeat friction.

Brazil: map private wallets with KYW[2]

  1. Update BingX KYC with a valid Brazilian ID (RG or CNH) and CPF as BingX describes for local presence.
  2. Use matched-owner PIX only — BingX says the bank-account name must match BingX KYC; third-party PIX can be reversed.
  3. Before moving assets to Ledger, MetaMask, Trezor or similar, complete BingX’s Know-Your-Wallet (KYW) verification so the external address is whitelisted for compliance monitors.

BingX’s article states KYW is required under SPSAV but does not publish the cryptographic steps — follow the live BingX KYW UI. Open the verifier →

Save and whitelist a withdrawal address (web or app)[3]

  1. Open the withdrawal page address-book icon and click +Add.
  2. Select token and network, enter Address and Remarks, then save.
  3. Optionally check “Enable verification-free mode to skip verification for withdrawals” so later sends skip 2FA/facial recognition.
  4. Optionally enable Withdraw via Address Book so only saved addresses can be used.

Common errors and fixes

Withdrawal delayed for compliance review

Complete any ownership / KYW step BingX shows and confirm the address is saved/whitelisted. Brazil users: finish KYW before large self-custody sends.[1][2]

Confused whitelist vs Travel Rule proof

BingX’s whitelist tutorial skips 2FA/facial recognition for trusted addresses. Travel Rule ownership proof (when required) is a separate compliance step described in the Travel Rule / KYW materials.[1][3]

PIX deposit reversed

BingX’s Brazil guide requires the bank account name to match BingX KYC; third-party PIX is reversed under the new AML rules.[2]

FAQ

Does BingX post Travel Rule data on-chain?

BingX’s Travel Rule explainer says identifying data is shared between regulated VASPs through secure messaging, not published on the public blockchain.

Is whitelist the same as proving I own the wallet?

No. Whitelist mode skips BingX security challenges (2FA/face). Ownership / KYW checks are compliance steps when required for self-hosted addresses.

Who needs Brazil KYW?

BingX’s SPSAV article targets Brazilian PIX-to-crypto flows withdrawing to private wallets; complete KYW if that describes your use.
