Coinone: proving you own your self-custody wallet

Coinone offers two ways to register your own wallet for withdrawals of KRW 1,000,000 or more. MetaMask users can use “simple personal wallet registration”: connect the MetaMask app or Chrome extension and sign, with no documents. It only works for EVM networks. For other wallets, including Phantom and Ledger, Coinone wants a photo of your Coinone account info, the wallet address and your ID card together (plus the physical Ledger for hardware wallets). Withdrawals under KRW 1,000,000 need a separate address check with a screenshot of the wallet name or logo and address.

Never share your seed phrase or private key. Coinone only needs a signature, a small test deposit or the details it asks for in its own app. Last checked 2026-10-28. Not legal advice.

When Coinone asks

Where: South Korea (Coinone). Coinone’s Korean-language help center covers its address book, Travel Rule (CODE) and withdrawal-address rules, and cites Korea’s Specific Financial Information Act enforcement decree for blocked unreported exchanges.

Threshold: Coinone says withdrawals of KRW 1,000,000 or more to an external address that isn’t covered by the Travel Rule need the address in the address book with its additional info registered. Withdrawals under KRW 1,000,000 only go to addresses that pass Coinone’s withdrawal-address verification.

Accepted verification methods

MethodStatusDetails
Simple personal wallet registration (MetaMask signature)AcceptedAdd the address to the address book and complete the additional info step by connecting MetaMask (app 5.26.0+ or the Chrome extension) and signing, instead of uploading documents. Only your own MetaMask account can be registered, and only on EVM networks. Tron, Solana and other non-EVM networks aren’t supported this way.[1]
Ownership photo or screen recordingAcceptedFor other external wallets, upload a screenshot showing your identifying info (name, email or phone, unmasked) and the address together, or a screen recording if they’re on different screens. For wallets that hold no personal info (MetaMask, Phantom, Kaia Wallet, Giraffe Wallet), photograph your Coinone account info screen and the wallet address screen with your physical ID card in the middle. For Ledger, add the physical device showing the address.[2][3]
Address verification for withdrawals under KRW 1,000,000AcceptedSubmit the address and destination (the exchange, or “enter manually” for a personal wallet) with up to 3 original images showing the wallet’s name or logo and the address. Coinone reviews it and sends the result by text.[4]
Satoshi testNot listedNot described in the Coinone help articles we checked.
Declaration onlyNot listedCoinone’s articles describe a signature or ownership photos for personal wallets, not a checkbox declaration.[1][2]

Step by step

Register MetaMask with a signature (simple registration)[1]

  1. Update the Coinone app to version 5.26.0 or later, or use the website with the MetaMask Chrome extension.
  2. Open the address book. App: Deposits/Withdrawals (입출금) → Address book management (주소록 관리). Web: Deposits/Withdrawals (입출금) → Withdrawal address book (출금 주소록).
  3. Click Add address (주소 추가), enter the details on an EVM network, and click Add (추가하기).
  4. Connect MetaMask. Make sure the selected MetaMask account contains the address you’re registering.
  5. Approve the signature in MetaMask. If the MetaMask app doesn’t show the connect screen, close it and try again. If the Chrome extension doesn’t respond, check the extension icon at the top right of the browser.

Coinone only accepts MetaMask accounts in your own name, and only on EVM networks. Read the prompt before approving and cancel if it asks for a transaction or token approval instead of a message. You can sign a message with the same address and check it in the KeyProof verifier to keep your own proof. Open the verifier →

Register another wallet with ownership photos[2][3]

  1. In Deposits/Withdrawals (입출금), open Address book management (주소록 관리) and click Add address (주소 추가).
  2. Select the asset, enter a nickname and the address (plus destination tag or memo if needed), then click Add (추가하기). You can save up to 1,000 addresses, and each address only once.
  3. Start the additional info registration for the address.
  4. For wallets that hold no personal info (MetaMask, Phantom, Kaia Wallet, Giraffe Wallet), take one photo showing your Coinone account info (web: My page → Personal info management), the wallet’s address screen, and your physical ID card (resident registration card or driver’s license) in the middle. Mask the parts of the ID that Coinone tells you to.
  5. For a Ledger, take the same photo with the physical Ledger in it too, showing the address on the device.
  6. Submit. Once approved, you can withdraw to the address right away.

Your identifying info must match what’s registered with Coinone, and each address needs its own proof. Registered addresses can’t be edited, so delete and re-register if something changes. Open the verifier →

Verify an address for withdrawals under KRW 1,000,000[4]

  1. In the app, go to Deposits/Withdrawals (입출금) → Address book management (주소록 관리) → Address verification for withdrawals under KRW 1,000,000.
  2. Select the asset and enter the address (memo or tag optional).
  3. Pick the destination. If it isn’t listed, choose “Enter manually” (직접 입력).
  4. Attach up to 3 original images showing the wallet’s name or logo and the address, together or separately.
  5. Wait for review. Coinone sends the result by text.

Common errors and fixes

MetaMask simple registration won’t work for my Tron or Solana address

Coinone’s MetaMask registration only supports EVM networks. Coinone’s address-book guide describes photo-based ownership proof for other personal wallets and lists Phantom among them.[1][2][3]

MetaMask connect screen doesn’t appear

Coinone says to close the MetaMask app and retry. On the web, check the Chrome extension at the top right of the browser.[1]

Can’t withdraw KRW 1,000,000 or more to my wallet

Finish the additional info registration for the address (MetaMask signature or ownership photos). Coinone allows withdrawals of KRW 1,000,000 or more once it’s complete.[2]

Ownership photo rejected

Your identifying info must be unmasked, match your Coinone account and appear with the address. Use a screen recording if they can’t fit on one screen, and include the physical Ledger for hardware wallets.[3]

Withdrawal under KRW 1,000,000 is blocked

Coinone restricts small withdrawals to verified addresses. Submit the address verification with original images. Unreported exchanges can’t be verified.[4]
