SwissBorg: proving you own your self-custody wallet
SwissBorg verifies self-hosted wallets by connecting a WalletConnect-compatible wallet and signing. Verify the address in Address Book before you deposit to avoid delays. Once verified, the address is whitelisted for future transfers.
When SwissBorg asks
Where: EU (Regulation (EU) 2023/1113 Travel Rule / Transfer of Funds Regulation)
Threshold: SwissBorg's Travel Rule guide says ownership confirmation can apply for self-hosted deposits and withdrawals, with additional digital-signature verification for large transactions. It does not publish a single public euro figure on that page; follow the in-app prompt.
Accepted verification methods
| Method | Status | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Connect wallet and sign (WalletConnect) | Accepted | Add the address in Address Book, choose Self Hosted Wallet, connect your wallet and confirm the signature request (for example in MetaMask). SwissBorg says deposits from self-hosted wallets must be verified through transaction signing under Regulation (EU) 2023/1113. Supported wallets are those listed on the WalletConnect wallet guide; Phantom needs the desktop web app.[1][2] |
| Travel Rule information sharing | Accepted | For transfers involving another CASP, SwissBorg collects and may share information such as name, home address, date of birth and account number. Match your details with the counterparty CASP.[2] |
| Satoshi test | Not listed | Not mentioned in the SwissBorg self-hosted wallet verification or Travel Rule guide articles we checked.[1][2] |
